Today I want to talk about the secret formula to writing a compelling headline because your headline is the first thing that people will see before they click on your ad, before they watch your video or read your email. And it is important for you to spend time on writing a compelling headline so that people will want to click and give you their attention. So let's go. (00:29): All right. And I think headline is important because it is the key to determine if someone will click on your ads, or your content or open your email, because your headline is the hook that grabs people's attention so that they will stop to listen to what you have for them. So today, I want specifically talk about headline. (01:09): I think this is the piece that most people missed and most people need because without a good headline, even if your contents are good, even if your offer is good, nobody's going to click on it to get to discover more. So it is important for you to spend equal amount of time, focus and effort on your headlines just as much as you spend on your contents or your offer. In fact, I heard Russell Brunson said that he would spend hours on his presentation headline before he even start working on his presentation. Because without a good headline, it doesn't matter how good your presentation is. It just couldn't grab people. (01:51): And it doesn't mean that having a good headline alone is enough. It doesn't mean that your contents don't have to be good. It still has to be amazing, but headline is the first thing that you need to work on. It will give you a good start if you have a good headline. Now I know that this is the piece that most people missed, and that's why they're struggling. (03:00): Today I want to share with you one most simple and basic, but effective headline formula that has been used by marketers over and over again in their ads, in their presentation titles, in their email titles and many more because it just work. But before I reveal to you what the formula is, I want you to think about what gets people to want to click. (03:25): What is your audience looking for in your contents, in your presentation and your offer, or when they are reading your email? Do you know what it is? I've mentioned this before that, all people want in life is just two things. It is either to move towards pleasure or to move away from pain. So what this means for you is your headline should always touch on this two points: to move towards pleasure and to move away from pain. (04:01): And the proven headline formula for this is called how to X in Y without Z. X is the result that you promise. Y is the timeframe. Z is the things that they hate doing. So how to RESULT in TIMEFRAME without THE THINGS THEY HATE DOING. That is the formula. This is the headline formula that marketers have been using over and over again, but still work the magic until today When it comes to getting people to click and paying attention to what you have. (04:45): The reason why this headline formula works well is because it has the balance between moving towards pleasure and away from pain. Which is ultimately the things that people want in their lives, the things that they're trying to achieve in their lives. The good example for this formula, would be something like this.. Let's say you are in fitness market, you teach people how to get six pack abs. It would be: How to get six pack abs in 30 days without giving up the rice or noodles that you like. (05:26): And that is so simple, but so powerful because it speaks directly to what people really want in their lives. But you want to be really careful when you're using this kind of headline in your ads, especially in Facebook, because Facebook, they hate specific promise in specific timeframe. They don't like ads that specifically mentioned the amount of time it takes to get one result. It will potentially getting your ad account shut down or banned. So you might need to tweak a little bit when you're using this for your Facebook ads. Just remove the promise of time. So it would be something like this: how to X without Z - how to RESULT without THINGS THEY HATE DOING - how to get six pack abs without giving up the foods that you love. Just remove the time promise when you are using this for your Facebook ads. Other than that, this formula will work amazing for you.
